Ai-Media CEO, Tony Abrahams, today welcomed the significant progress towards delivering improved access and inclusion for people with disability.
“There is a real sense of excitement among people with disability, their carers and families, that the future will be better than the past. Today’s International Day of People with Disability is truly one to be celebrated.”
Today numerous organisations are supporting the 2010 International Day of People with a Disability by hosting events and celebrations. Among today's announcements include:
1. An increase of $2b in funding by the NSW Government (supported by the Opposition) in disability services.
3. The launch of a new website by the ABC -

4. Telstra an Westpac released their new Accessibility Action Plan. Claire Stewart, Manager Diversity and Flexibility at Westpac said " I wish people felt more comfortable disclosing their disabilities, free from fear that this may be used negatively against them. We all have a right to a fulfilling and positively challenging career."
5. Senator Mitch Fifield, Shadow Minister for Disabilities, Carers and the Voluntary Sector said today, “International Day of People with Disability is a chance for us to acknowledge the importance of providing people with disability every opportunity to participate fully in our society, and to work towards that goal with renewed enthusiasm,” Senator Fifield said.
